Chocolate Oatmeal Cake

Standard

2 eggs
 1 cup brown sugar
 1 cup white sugar
 ½ cup butter, melted
 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
 1 tsp. baking soda
 ½ tsp. salt
 1 ½ tbsps. unsweetened cocoa powder
 1 cup quick cooking oats
 1 ¾ cups boiling water
 1 12 oz. bag chocolate chips, divided
 6 tbsps. butter
 6 tbsps. milk
 1 ½ cups sugar
 ½- ¾ cup choc. chips
 ½- ¾ cup mini marshmallows
Preheat oven to 350°. Beat together the first 8 ingredients. Combine the water and oatmeal in a separate bowl, and let stand for a few minutes. When the oats are soft, add to the other mixture. Stir in half bag (6 oz.) choc. chips. Pour into a greased 9×13” rectangular cake pan. Sprinkle w/ remaining 6 oz. choc. chips. Bake 30-40 min., or until the surface springs back lightly when touched. Do not overbake. Cool completely before frosting.
For the frosting, melt the butter, sugar, and milk in a lg. saucepan over med. heat. Bring to a boil, and boil for 30 seconds. Reduce heat to low, and add chocolate chips and marshmallows until frosting is smooth. Pour over the cooled cake immediately.
