Bad Day

Standard

Waking up and wondering

If it’ll chase me down today.

For, I eased myself to slumber

And forced its presence away.

But, the moment that beckons the daybreak

Brings its feet on the floor, once again.

Hiding behind the shadows,

Awaiting its time to win.

I approach the day with caution

For, I know what’s a step behind.

It only takes one steady breath

To steal my piece of mind.

The fear of the inevitable

Can paralyze at best.

The panic rises deep inside

At the racing in my chest.

It’s inevitable we’ll meet again;

You connect with me, every way.

The demons from past are reluctant to leave….

You’re, clearly, my bad day.
